A journalist since 2009 and member of the National Union of Journalists and the Society of International Media & Press Photographers, I specialise in covering foreign affairs, human rights and general news in Sub-Saharan Africa, especially Central Africa's Great Lakes region.
I have reported from Lebanon, Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan and Burundi for a diverse range of publications. These include the International Business Times, the Independent, the Evening Standard, The New Statesman, Jazeera Magazine, Yahoo News and the Daily Telegraph.
I have appeared as a guest analyst on a number of prime-time news programs including African network Arise News, the Islam Channel TV and KBIA, a National Public Radio (NPR) affiliate.
I currently work for the NSPCC, a leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK, providing powerful written and AV content focused on the stories of children and adults - all survivors of human rights abuse - as well as managing and training Press Officers across the nations.
Nominated for the Rising Star of the Year at The HeadlineMoney Media Awards 2014, I was most recently nominated for the 2016 One World Media Awards in the New Voice Award category.
